Dylan studied a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours, majoring in structural engineering. During his studies he worked as a geotechnical engineer, gaining experience in soil analysis and foundation engineering.

After concluding his studies he went to work for the tier 1 consultancy AECOM, where he honed his skills in structural inspection and assessment. Dylan assisted in the inspection or assessment of close to a hundred public infrastructure assets including steel and concrete bridges, masonry tunnels and arches, and various structural access systems. Bringing these skills with him, Dylan joined Project X in 2023.
